Affinity Photography is based in Bentleigh, Victoria. I work either from a specifically chosen POP UP Studio or location at your business site, home, or office around the greater Melbourne Metro area. There is a location charge when not at one of the POP UP studio and a travel charge for more than 30km from Bentleigh, Vic @ $1 per km.

What do I get with my session?

Investing in a professional, high-quality service will leave you with amazing photographs that truly capture your life. I have 20+ years of experience as a professional photographer so I will use my well developed skills to photograph you. You’re customised session is tailored to suit you; I will aim for your session to be a fun, relaxed, directed, posed, candid, creative session; professional post production editing of your images to the best colour correction, colour balance, and selection of only the best; your complimentary password protected on-line proof gallery. Whew, that’s a lot!

What’s the difference between edited images and retouched images?

Great question! I have been a professional image editor and retoucher for 18 years. Editing is the correct colour balance, colour correction for the skin tone with signature enhancements to the images which are how I like to produce images for Affinity Photography. This includes but not limited to luminosity, tone, kelvin balance, vibrancy, saturation. Retouching is manipulation of the image. This can be making someone look 20+ years younger through extreme softening and retouching. Please note, I don’t do this! I generally remove those dark circles from tired parents, refresh a corporate look to a more relaxed person, get rid of that nuisance pimple that appeared overnight. The most popular it my signature ‘Monday morning fresh look’ - relaxed and fresh, but you will still look like YOU! I clear up backgrounds, remove bird poo, cigarette buts, rubbish cans, stray hair, the wrinkles no one likes to see And, only if asked, I do special retouching like getting rid of birthmarks, skinned knees on kids (part of who they are at the time), eczema, scars, etc.

Will you take 1000s of images in my session?

Absolutely NOT!! If you think about it, a 1 hour session is 60 minutes. Much of that time must be spend perfecting YOU to look AMAZING. Not pushing the button 1000 times and hoping something looks ok. I don’t limit the number of images I take, I just spend the time taking them well.

Can I have more images than in my package?

Yes! I will take more than enough images to choose from. Although packages come with a set number of final images, you have an option to upgrade once you see your images in the on-line gallery.

Will you give me more information for my session?

For sure! Once you’ve booked your session style, I will send you some FAQs or guides developed specifically for that session style. I will also get in touch to customise your session and answer any questions you have

When do I choose my images?

After your session, your images are carefully refined and you will get an on-line proof gallery within 1-2 weeks of your session. Here you can choose your images in your own comfort with NO HARD-SELL ON THE DAY PRESSURE!!

Do I need to pay for everything before my session?

A $100 booking fee is required to hold your date. You can choose to pay the full amount up front but the balance is due AFTER you’ve seen your images, chosen your images but BEFORE you receive any images via your direct download link.

Do you offer payment plans?

Not exactly. You can pay for your session in full via our on-line booking system. Here you can pay using Paypal. The great news is Paypal have just released their ‘Pay in 4” where you can pay in 4 instalments. Please note, this only applies for payments through the booking system through your Paypal.

What should we wear?

This is one of the very important and often asked questions. Some suggestions and idea are included in your session FAQs or guide. We can definitely talk more about clothing style and colours when we customise your session!

What happens we suddenly get locked down or I am instructed to isolate due to

COVID or waiting for a test result

Affinity Photography takes health and safety very seriously. All COVID regulations are adhered to. If we are in lockdown, photography is not essential service so cannot be done. Similarly, if you are isolating due to awaiting a test or having been at an exposure site, your session cannot go ahead until all is good to go. Your session will be rescheduled. Please notify kaye@affinityphotography.com.au as soon as you are aware that you need to reschedule and we’ll get this done.

Can I have my session at my home or the park nearby?

Of course. Affinity Photography offers location sessions as well as in the POP UP Studio. There is a location and travel charge if sessions are not done in the POP UP Studio. Also note that some parks and locations require permits and fees (such as the Melbourne Botanical Gardens). It is your responsiblity to obtain the necessary permit and pay the fee.

Can I get my family images printed as a canvas?

Definitely! For many people today having an amazing image of family to decorate their house turns it into a home. Affinity Photography offers high quality, Australian manufactured Frames, Canvas and matted art prints.

How do I see my images?

Your images for selection are uploaded into a password protected proof gallery where you can see and choose your images. If you have ANY questions or wish a zoom session to go through your images together, just give me a call and we’ll set that up for you.
